Donkey, that's how our lake is gator free, except our rednecks do it in airboats. Looks like an adrenaline rush for sure. I never got into gator hunting, but gator tail is very tasty for sure.


I know the guy that owns alligatorhuntingequipment.com (he lives near the east coast of FL)...your rules are similar to ours but you guys don't have to snare them before shooting. Once you get them to the boat, you pop them with a bang stick. All states are similar except Louisiana, they let them swallow a hook and harvest them half dead...nothing like you see on TV. No sport at all to it.

Think they use bang sticks, shotgun shell on end of pole goes off on impact, but no personal experience with it, I could be missing something on the firing action.

Right, but most use .357 or .44 revolver rounds.
